Mentorship Programs

At Auto Pros Academy, mentorship is at the heart of every student's journey.

From their first day in the Automotive Engineering & Technology Prep Program (Intro to Automotive), students work alongside experienced automotive professionals who provide hands-on instruction, encouragement, and real-world guidance in a professional repair shop environment.

Our mentors do more than teach technical skills—they help students build confidence, develop strong work habits, strengthen communication and teamwork, and understand the professionalism expected in today's automotive industry.

As students progress through our educational pathway, mentorship continues to play an important role in preparing them for advanced training, ASE certification pathways, paid apprenticeships, and long-term careers in the automotive field.

By learning from experienced industry professionals, students gain valuable insight into the automotive profession while developing the technical knowledge, leadership skills, and work ethic needed for lifelong success.

Hands-On Training

At Auto Pros Academy, students don't just learn about automotive technology—they learn by doing.

For the 2026–2027 school year, students enrolled in the Automotive Engineering & Technology Prep Program (Intro to Automotive) receive hands-on instruction inside Auto Pros Automotive, a professional automotive repair facility where learning takes place in a real-world environment.

Our Prep Program welcomes currently registered middle school students, freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, creating a collaborative learning environment where students build a strong foundation in automotive technology together.

Working under the supervision of ASE Master Technician Rudy Gutierrez, students gain practical experience while learning:

• Shop safety and proper use of professional tools and equipment

• Basic automotive systems and vehicle maintenance

• Introductory diagnostics and repair procedures

• Vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance

• Teamwork, communication, and leadership

• Critical thinking and problem-solving

• Workplace professionalism and career readiness

Throughout the school year, students work together on an instructional vehicle, allowing them to apply classroom concepts through meaningful, hands-on experience while developing the confidence and technical skills needed for future success.

Unlike a traditional classroom, students learn in the same type of environment where professional automotive technicians work every day. This authentic learning experience prepares students for the next steps in Auto Pros Academy's workforce development pathway, including future advanced training, ASE certification preparation, paid apprenticeships, and long-term career opportunities within the automotive industry.

By combining hands-on learning with professional mentorship, Auto Pros Academy equips students with the knowledge, skills, and work ethic needed to thrive in today's rapidly evolving automotive industry.

Certification Preparation

 Auto Pros Academy is committed to preparing students for success in the automotive industry by building the knowledge, skills, and professionalism needed to pursue Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications.

During the 2026–2027 school year, students enrolled in the Automotive Engineering & Technology Prep Program (Intro to Automotive) develop a strong foundation in automotive systems, shop safety, professional tool usage, maintenance, introductory diagnostics, and industry best practices.

As students advance through Auto Pros Academy's workforce development pathway, they will continue building the technical knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to prepare for the following ASE certification pathways:

• ASE G1 – Maintenance & Light Repair

• ASE A4 – Suspension & Steering

• ASE A5 – Brakes

Preparation for these certifications will continue through our planned Automotive Engineering & Technology Advanced Program and culminate with real-world experience in our Two-Year Paid Apprenticeship Program, where students further develop the skills and confidence expected of today's automotive professionals.

Our curriculum is aligned with recognized automotive industry standards and emphasizes more than technical ability. Students also develop professionalism, communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that are essential for success in today's automotive workforce.

Auto Pros Academy's long-term vision is to provide students with a seamless pathway from introductory automotive education to advanced technical training, ASE certification preparation, paid apprenticeships, and meaningful careers in the automotive industry.
