Auto Pros Apprenticeship Program 



Objective

The Auto Pros Apprenticeship Program is a paid, part-time initiative designed to help aspiring automotive professionals gain the required two years of shop experience while preparing for ASE certification exams. This program bridges the gap between education and hands-on industry experience, empowering students to build successful careers in automotive technology.


 Program Overview

  Duration: 2 years (part-time, flexible schedule to accommodate study and work balance).

  Purpose:

Provide students with:

  1.  Practical, hands-on shop experience.

  2.  Dedicated time to prepare for ASE certification exams.

  3.  Job placement services upon completion of the program.

 Structure: 

  1.  On-the-job training in a professional automotive shop environment.

  2.  Mentorship from experienced technicians.

  3.  Study support and resources for ASE prep.


Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Auto Pros Apprenticeship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Education:

  1.  High school diploma or equivalent.

  2.  Successful completion of Auto Pros Academy Advanced Courses.

2.Age: Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

  1.  Licensing: A valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.

4. Skills & Attributes:

  1.   Strong interest in automotive technology.

  2.  Commitment to learning and professional growth.


Key Components of the Program

1) Paid Shop Experience

1.    Apprentices will work part-time in a professional automotive shop under the supervision of experienced technicians.

2.    Tasks include diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and customer service support.

3.    Apprentices will gain exposure to real-world challenges and develop critical technical skills.

2) Safety Training

Safety is a top priority in the Auto Pros Apprenticeship Program. All apprentices will complete OSHA-compliant safety training during their first week in the program.

1.    Apprentices will receive dedicated time and resources to study for ASE certification exams.

4) Mentorship

1.    Each apprentice will be paired with an experienced technician who will provide guidance, feedback, and support throughout the program.

2.    Mentors will help apprentices build confidence and refine their skills in a collaborative environment.

5) Tools and Equipment Policy

1.    Auto Pros will provide all shop-owned tools necessary for apprentices to perform their duties effectively.

2.    Apprentices are encouraged to invest in purchasing their own tools as they progress in mastering their craft. This investment helps them build a personal toolset that will serve them throughout their careers.

 6) Wage Progression

1.    Apprentices will receive competitive hourly wages that increase incrementally based on skill development milestones or certifications earned during the program.


Job Placement Services

1.    Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship program, participants will have access to job placement services.

2.    Auto Pros will assist apprentices in finding full-time employment opportunities within the automotive industry through:

3.    Networking connections with Automotive Training Institute (ATI) . They support more than 1,600 shops in improving operations and workforce development. We will provide nationwide employment or locally.

4.    Resume writing assistance and interview preparation.

5.    Job listings tailored to apprentices' skills and interests.

 8)Career Development

  1.    The program prepares apprentices for full-time roles as skilled technicians upon completion.

2.    Opportunities for advancement within Auto Pros are available based on performance and certifications earned.

10)Program Completion Requirements

To successfully complete the Auto Pros Apprenticeship Program, apprentices must meet specific requirements that demonstrate their readiness for full-time employment in the automotive industry. These requirements may include:

  1.    Accumulating a minimum number of shop hours over the two-year period.

2.    Successfully completing all assigned tasks as outlined by mentors or supervisors.

3.    Passing periodic evaluations or assessments conducted by mentors or program coordinators.

4.    Earning at least two ASE certifications.

5.    Maintaining consistent attendance and professionalism throughout the program.

11)Recognition and Rewards

The Auto Pros Apprenticeship Program values hard work, dedication, and achievement. To motivate apprentices and celebrate milestones, we offer recognition and rewards such as:

1.    Certificates of achievement for completing key phases of the program or earning certifications.

12)Apprentice Progress Tracking

To ensure apprentices are progressing effectively through the program, we implement a structured progress tracking system that includes:

1.    Quarterly performance reviews conducted by mentors or supervisors to assess skill development, knowledge retention, and professionalism.

2.    A checklist of essential skills that apprentices must master (e.g., oil changes, brake repairs, diagnostics).

3.    Regular feedback sessions where apprentices can discuss strengths, areas for improvement, and career goals with their mentors.

To measure program effectiveness:
